Allis State Park is a 625-acre park in Brookfield, Vermont, established in 1928 as Vermont’s second state park. Named for Wallace S. Allis, it grew from his gift of Bear Mountain Farm to the state for camping and recreation after he had long welcomed local visitors to enjoy its views. Beginning in 1932, the Civilian Conservation Corps built much of the park’s core infrastructure, including the access road, campground, picnic grounds, and pavilion. Bear Hill and its fire and lookout tower anchor the park, which remains centered on camping, trails, and scenic views. Its CCC-shaped historic facilities were listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2002.
