Stony Brook Covered Bridge, also called the Moseley Covered Bridge, stands in rural southern Northfield, Vermont, carrying Stony Brook Road over Stony Brook. Built in 1899, it is a single-span King post truss, a notably rare covered-bridge form in Vermont. It is considered one of only two surviving nineteenth-century covered bridges of this design in the state and is believed to be the last King post truss bridge built during Vermont’s historic covered-bridge era. Though later strengthened with steel I-beams and concrete-faced abutments, it has retained its basic character. Its significance was recognized by listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1974.
