Madison Lake State Park in central Ohio lies in the Darby Plains about four miles east of London. Its centerpiece is 106-acre Madison Lake, formed in 1947 when Madison Lake Dam was built on Deer Creek, with 76 additional acres around it. In 1950 the property was transferred to the Ohio Department of Natural Resources for state park use. The park serves both active and quiet outdoor recreation, offering boating, swimming, picnicking, hiking, fishing, and shoreline access. Amenities include a boat ramp, sand beach, shelters, restrooms, and a trail along the southern shore, while the lake’s northern end is reserved for hunting migratory game birds.
