The Rising Star Area Veterans Memorial honors veterans from the community who sacrificed to ensure freedom for all Americans and presents extensive rolls of names from the War of 1812, the Mexican War, the Civil War, the Spanish American War, World War I, World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, Desert Storm, Enduring Freedom in Afghanistan, Operation Joint Forces in Bosnia, and Iraqi Freedom. Placed in 2004, it identifies veterans across generations as pillars of stone and pillars of the community.
