Oaksville Ball Park is one of the few surviving African American sandlot baseball fields and was home to the Oaksville Eagles, created about 1910. The community baseball club toured neighboring states and played against Negro League teams in the era before desegregation. After the integration of baseball, the Eagles were the only African American team in the Eastern Shore Baseball League. They continued playing until 1978 and at one time held a 48 game winning streak.
