Near Snow Hill, Maryland, Furnace Town preserves the historic Nassawango Iron Furnace, an early 19th-century brick blast furnace where bog iron ore was smelted into pig iron, tying the site to the region’s industrial past. Around it stands a village-like group of relocated historic buildings, including a church, a store, houses, and the R. Frank Jones Museum, originally built in 1869 and moved there in 1977.
