Cornwall remembers local servicemen who died in war, including those who died in hospital, those killed in battle at Guntown, Mississippi, Savage Station, Fort Donelson, Coal Harbor, the Wilderness, and Spottsylvania, one man hanged by guerillas, and World War I veterans William Swenor, who died at Camp McClellan, Alabama, on October 13, 1918, and Earl H. LaPier, who was killed on the Verdun Front on November 10, 1918.
