A 6 PDR. Nordenfeldt 57 M.M., Rapid Fire Gun was mounted on the starboard bow of the Spanish flagship Reina Christina and went down with that vessel in the Naval Battle in Manila Bay on May 1st, 1898. The shot hole in its shield was caused by a 6 PDR. shell. Captain N. Mayo Dyer, U.S.N., who commanded the U.S. Cruiser Baltimore during the engagement, presented it through Mayor Wm. T. Malster to the City of Baltimore.
