Martinak State Park is a Maryland state park on the Choptank River and Watts Creek south of Denton in Caroline County. Named for George Martinak, who deeded his land to the state in 1961, it opened in 1964 and was expanded over the next decade with campsites, roads, and a park office. The park developed into a destination for both overnight stays and day use, built around its riverfront setting. Boating and fishing remain central attractions, joined by cabins, hiking trails, a nature center, and other outdoor recreation. Its importance rests in preserving shoreline and woodland for public use in the Denton area.
