Bush's Pasture Park in Salem, Oregon, preserves the former estate of Asahel Bush as both a public park and a historic cultural site. Its centerpiece is the Bush House, an Italianate Victorian home built in 1877 and 1878 and later listed on the National Register of Historic Places. Bush, founder of the Oregon Statesman and later associated with the Ladd and Bush Bank, added a conservatory in 1882 that still survives. Since 1953, the city-owned house has operated as the Bush House Museum, while the former barn serves as an art center. Trails, gardens, orchards, oak groves, sports facilities, and annual festivals make the park a major civic space.
