Gooch Creek Arch is a natural sandstone arch in Rhea County, Tennessee, near the Laurel-Snow State Natural Area and the Cumberland Trail. Rising 45 feet high with a 78-foot span, it is one of Tennessee’s largest natural arches. Wilbur Nelson first described it in 1915. Its later history includes an unusual episode: when Corgan and Parks were gathering information on Tennessee arches in 1979, they could not locate it, adding a small enduring mystery to the story of the site.
