About one mile north of this site stood High Cliff Zion Evangelical Church, now the United Methodist Church. The church was organized on February 28, 1872, and consolidated on July 9, 1919. Many of the early members of that church, with which this cemetery was affiliated, are buried here. The cemetery honors the heroic faith of forefathers who loved their Lord.
