St. Mary of the Most Holy Rosary was the first church built on this site and stood from 1873 to 1912. It was formed from St. Thaddeus Mission Church on Bloom Ave., the first Catholic church in North Scranton, which existed from 1859 to 1873. It recalls the ancestors from many lands who left the rich legacy of their faith.
