Opened on November 24, 1914, Laurel City Hall once housed all of Laurel's city officials as well as the fire and police departments. Designed by architect Penn Jeffries Krouse, it is an early example in Mississippi of the eclectic Mediterranean classical style. In 1987 it was listed as a contributing element of the Laurel Central Historic District, and in 1993 it was designated a Mississippi Landmark.
