Dancing Rabbit Creek Treaty Site

On September 27, 1830, the Treaty of Dancing Rabbit Creek was signed here. The Choctaw Nation of Indians surrendered their lands to the U.S. and removed west of the Mississippi. The commissioners were John Coffee and John H. Eaton, the Choctaw chiefs were Greenwood LeFleur, Mushulatubbee, and Little Leader, and the interpreter was John Pitchlynn.
