This ornamental iron gate stood at the entrance of the Imlay Township Cemetery as early as 1850. It is the finest example of early blacksmithing, with every piece hand forged and hammered into shape by the craftsman on his anvil. In 2013 the gate was completely restored by Mr. Vern Martin, owner of The Iron Barn, through the generous support of the Four County Community Foundation and the Lapeer County Community Foundation.
