Wahclella Falls is a waterfall on Tanner Creek in Oregon’s Columbia River Gorge near Bonneville Dam. Reached by a well-maintained 1.8-mile loop trail, the falls have upper and lower sections with a combined height of about 350 feet. The lower drop, about 60 feet high, is the most visible as it pours through a narrow basalt gorge into a plunge pool enclosed by rock walls in an amphitheater-like setting. Its flow changes with the seasons but remains relatively steady because Tanner Creek is fed mainly by an underground spring. The name was given in 1915 by the Mazamas, using that of a nearby Native American village.
