Eagle Bluffs Conservation Area is a wetland preserve in Boone County, Missouri, in the Missouri River floodplain southwest of Columbia. Managed by the Missouri Department of Conservation, it provides protected habitat for migrating birds and several breeding pairs of bald eagles, giving the area part of its name alongside the tall bluffs on the floodplain’s eastern edge. Perche Creek runs through the refuge, McBaine marks its north entrance, and Katy Trail State Park passes through it. The conservation area was established after the Great Flood of 1993 destroyed farmland, and its wetlands are sustained by Missouri River water and treated wastewater from Columbia’s plant.
