Mount Turnbull
Nature
Mount Turnbull, known in Western Apache as Dził Dlaazhe, is the highest mountain in Arizona’s Santa Teresa Mountains and the highest point on the San Carlos Apache Indian Reservation. Rising to 8,284 feet with a prominence of 3,562 feet, it dominates the surrounding landscape in western Graham County. Its height and isolation make it a striking landmark in the region. Because access to the mountain crosses reservation land, visitors need a recreational permit.
