Staff Sergeant Jae Sik Moon is remembered as a hometown hero, a beloved son, and a recipient of the Bronze Star Medal and Purple Heart. A tribute to his loss says there are fifty stars upon the flag, but only forty-nine show through, for though the fiftieth remains, its light has gone out.
