Palmer State Park is a heavily forested public recreation area along Deer Creek in Harford County, about two miles southwest of Dublin. Established in 1965 through Gerald and Ruth Palmer’s donation of 463 acres, it created the foundation of a protected landscape that remains in public use. The park offers canoeing, fishing, and hiking along the creek corridor, while also preserving evidence of the area’s earlier industrial past. Remnants of the Husband Flint Mill and the Deer Creek Iron Works connect the park’s quiet woodland setting to a much older working landscape, giving it value both for recreation and for local history.
