The memorial honors Cement area men who died while serving their country: 2nd Lt. William A. Simms, 2nd Lt. V. Leslie Dixon, Clyde Walker, S. Sgt., Samuel Lawrence Estes, Pvt., Sidney Ezzell, Pvt., Lester Logston, SA, Loftin McGinnis, Cpl., John David Powell, Jr., PFC., Lloyd Day, SA, L. Carl Horton, Pvt., Alfred Leroy Day, BM1, Arron Ledford, Sgt., Jesse C. Burbank, Sgt., Robert Keeler, Sgt., 2nd Lt. Robert L. Dotson, Steven Dobry, Spl 5, Bobby Gene Webb, PO2, Jackie W. Wilkes, Sgt. USAF, Barry J. Mink, SA, and Lloyd Day, S2'C. It also includes a Peace Garden as a tribute to the veterans of World War I and World War II and is dedicated to the memory of those who sacrificed their lives so that peace might be preserved.
