Sequoyah Bay State Park is a three hundred three-acre park on the western shore of Fort Gibson Lake in eastern Oklahoma, south of Wagoner along State Highway 16. Focused on lakeside recreation and camping, it includes three hundred sixty-seven sites for recreational vehicles or tents, making it one of the larger camping areas on this stretch of the lake. Its campgrounds are named for notable chiefs associated with the Five Civilized Tribes, including Attacullaculla, Pushmataha, Osceola, Opothleyahola, and Payamataha, connecting the park’s present-day recreational use to a broader regional history tied to Cherokee, Choctaw, Seminole, Creek, and Chickasaw leaders.
