Alberhill Canyon is an informal valley and arroyo in the Temescal Mountains of Riverside County, California, named for the former mining settlement of Alberhill near its mouth at Temescal Creek. Its drainage begins at about 2,260 feet in the mountains, three miles east of Estelle Mountain, then runs southwest into Walker Canyon just north-northeast of Alberhill. The arroyo is ephemeral, carrying water mainly in wetter years during Southern California’s wet season and staying dry much of the rest of the year. Near its lower end, the wash passes beneath Interstate 15 before reaching Temescal Creek near the old Alberhill schoolhouse, where freeway construction also shifted the creek south from its earlier course.
