Ocqueoc Falls is a series of rapids and low waterfalls on the Ocqueoc River in northern Michigan, in the Atlanta Unit of Mackinaw State Forest. Known as the largest and only named waterfall in Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, it is defined less by height than by a broad, broken rush of water over stone. Here the river drops about 5 feet into a small rocky gorge before continuing toward Hammond Bay on Lake Huron. The falls also serve as a regional recreation center, with the Ocqueoc Falls Bicentennial Pathway, a 6.3-mile universally accessible trail, and the Ocqueoc Falls State Forest Campground nearby.
