Notch Peak, a prominent summit on Sawtooth Mountain in Utah’s House Range west of Delta, is renowned for its sheer northwest face above Tule Valley, ancient bristlecone pines on nearby ridges, and striking exposed geology. Rising 9,658 feet above sea level, with about 2,200 feet of vertical relief in its limestone and dolomite cliff, it is noted as the highest carbonate rock cliff in North America and the second-highest pure vertical drop in the United States after El Capitan. The peak also reveals rock formations from Cambrian, Ordovician, and Jurassic periods, making it both a dramatic landscape and an important geological site.
