Schaefer Head is a 2,950-foot mountain in Pennsylvania’s Allegheny Mountains and one of the summits of the isolated Blue Knob massif, a cluster of peaks set apart from the Allegheny Front. It is the third-highest peak in that group, after Blue Knob and Herman Point, and it is the highest point in Blair County. Its cone-shaped profile makes it especially distinctive. With no roads leading to the summit and access requiring a bushwhack, Schaefer Head retains a notably remote and undeveloped character despite its place in this prominent upland landscape.
