Huffman Mill Covered Bridge spans the Anderson River in southern Indiana, connecting Anderson Township in Perry County with Harrison Township in Spencer County. Built in 1864–1865, the one-lane bridge is 148 feet long and uses a Burr arch truss of wood, stone, and steel beneath a gabled steel roof. Its design reflects practical mid-19th-century bridge-building methods, especially the use of covered spans to protect timber framing from weather and prolong service life. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1998, it remains an important surviving example of Indiana’s rural covered-bridge heritage from the Civil War era.
