Christopher Hartman emigrated from Germany in 1753, fought in the American Revolution, and settled in Clermont County in 1801. His grandson John Kirby Hartman purchased this site in 1838. The place also honors their relatives and descendants, and it was restored by the Clermont County Park Commission in 1992.
