Dupree Gardens was a private botanical garden in what is now Land o' Lakes, Florida, opened to the public on December 1, 1940, as one of the state's early roadside attractions. Set within a 900-acre estate, its 25-acre core featured winding paths, streams, and waterfalls and was promoted as the “Blossom Center of Florida.” Before World War II gas and tire rationing cut tourist travel, it drew more than 30,000 visitors annually and remained prominent in travel guides into the late 1940s and early 1950s. Though it no longer survives intact, the stone ticket gate remains, and restoration of some original water features began in 2003.
