The George Madison Millard House in Highland Park, Illinois, is a Frank Lloyd Wright Prairie style residence completed in 1906 for rare-book dealer George Madison Millard and his wife, Alice. Near Lake Michigan, it features brown-stained board and batten siding, a hipped roof, deep overhangs, 68 art glass windows, and a cruciform interior plan of about 3,000 square feet with four bedrooms. Wright valued the design enough to include it in his Wasmuth Portfolio, and it later gained added significance through Alice Millard, who would commission La Miniatura in Pasadena. After later restoration and preservation efforts, the house survived demolition threats and remains an important example of Wright’s early residential work.
