Great Conglomerate Falls

Great Conglomerate Falls is a 30-foot waterfall on Michigan’s Black River, named for the large conglomerate outcropping in midstream that shapes its distinctive segmented appearance. That central rock mass divides the flow, and in summer, when water levels are lower, the falls separates into two clearly distinct drops around it. This seasonal split is the defining characteristic of the falls and the feature that most strongly sets its appearance apart.
