Brian Booth State Park on the central Oregon coast combines Ona Beach State Park and Beaver Creek State Natural Area, formally merged in 2013 after decades of land acquisition between 1938 and 1968 and a county land gift in 1963. Near Seal Rock, it provides beach access, kayaking on Beaver Creek, and hiking trails, and draws heavy annual visitation. Ona Beach, where Beaver Creek reaches the Pacific, also preserves older regional history: its name comes from Chinook Jargon for razor clam, and before the Coast Highway, motorists crossed this beach at low tide behind a mail carrier who knew the safest route. The park is also the western end of the Corvallis to the Sea Trail.
