Howiri is an ancestral Tewa Pueblo archaeological site in northern New Mexico on the east bank of the Rio Ojo Caliente near Homayo. Its name means “gray projecting-point.” Occupied from about 1400 to about 1525, it stands out as an important Pueblo site from the late pre-contact period. Its most notable surviving features are ten circular kivas, which mark the settlement's significance. Howiri's listing on the National Register of Historic Places in 1983 reflects its importance as an archaeological place connected to the history of the Tewa people.
