The Ojo Caliente Hot Springs Round Barn in Ojo Caliente, New Mexico, was built in 1924 by Anthony F. Joseph as the nearby mineral springs resort grew in popularity and needed more dairy production for guests. A two-story adobe structure on a concrete foundation, it rises about 65 feet and is distinguished by its rare round form, double-pitch domed roof, and hexagonal cupola. Later owners added a hay hood dormer above the barn door after the original opening proved too exposed. Restored in 2002 and listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2003, it remains a rare adaptation of regional adobe building to an unusual barn design.
