Built in Davison between 1890 and 1900, the Davison Depot served as a flag stop on the Grand Trunk Western Railroad Line, where passengers gathered and mail was dropped off. It had no scheduled stops, and trains halted only when a passenger needed to board or disembark. Depot personnel raised a flag to signal the engineer to stop for boarding passengers; otherwise the train continued on. When mail was to be delivered but no passengers were being picked up or dropped off, mailbags were tossed from the moving train. In 1976, the Davison Depot was moved to Crossroads Village as part of the United States Bicentennial.
