Rollinsford was the home of Charles C. Doe, a jurist who served as a Judge of the Supreme Court and as Chief Justice from 1876-1896. After graduating from Dartmouth College in 1849, he studied law at Harvard. His outstanding opinions as Chief Justice showed unusual legal attainments and left an indelible impression on the law of New Hampshire.
