Oak Ridge in Santa Clara County, California, forms the eastern canyon wall of Arroyo Hondo, whose drainage flows into Calaveras Reservoir, and its highest point is Black Mountain. The first known white settlers there were the Parks family, who used the ridge for cattle ranching. Today the land is owned by the San Francisco Water Department and, as private property, is closed to most people.
