The last post meeting in Ohio of the Grand Army of the Republic was held in this building on April 23, 1949, under Commander John H. Grate. It was later dedicated on July 22, 1962, by the Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, the Auxiliary to Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, and the Daughters of Union Veterans of the Civil War.
