Cabin Creek Covered Bridge, which carries Kentucky Highway 984 over Cabin Creek northwest of Tollesboro, is a historic Kentucky covered bridge generally dated to 1867, though other records place related authorization and construction activity between 1869 and 1871. At 114 feet long, it is one of only thirteen covered bridges remaining in the state. Built with a roof and enclosed sides to protect its timber trusses from weather, it uses a Burr truss later reinforced with side arches associated with Louis Bower. Closed to vehicular traffic in 1983 and restored from 2012 to 2014, it survives as a notable example of Kentucky’s diminishing covered bridges.
