Veteran Park honors the Department of the Air Force of the United States of America, founded in 1947; the Department of the Army of the United States of America, founded in 1775; the United States Coast Guard, founded in 1790, with the motto Semper Paratus; and the Department of the Navy, including the United States Marine Corps and the United States Navy.
