In Enid, Oklahoma, this railroad museum occupies the former Atchison, Topeka and Santa Fe Railway freight depot beside a freight yard. Founded in 1977 and operated by the Enid chapter of the National Railway Historical Society, it preserves both the depot, listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 2015, and a broad collection of railroad equipment and artifacts. Indoor exhibits include operating HO- and N-gauge model railroads, a reference library, dining car china, and other items, while outside are locomotives, cabooses, freight cars, a railway post office car, and a former Amtrak lounge car. Biannual caboose trips on historic local lines keep Enid’s railroad heritage active.
