Men and women from West Brunswick and Deer Lake served in World War II in the cause of right and freedom, and those who gave their lives were honored in memory: Guy E. Emerich, Lamar Haag, Robert Kantner, Paul D. Lon, Allen Moyer, Martin Moyer, and Alfred H. Smith. A roll of honor also recognized many other local servicemen and servicewomen from the two communities.
