The Gemini Program prepared NASA and its astronauts to go to the Moon by practicing the skills and maneuvers needed in orbit and reentry, and it also helped to understand astronauts' needs for longer space travel. Two astronauts lived together in these small cabins for up to two weeks, conducting their official duties, eating, sleeping, and relieving themselves from their seats with little privacy between them. A full-scale mockup of the Gemini reentry module and adaptor module shows what the complete spacecraft would have looked like at launch.
