Part of this building was erected about 1810 by Wm. Harrison and used as his residence and later by the Nortons. In 1857 the front part was built for the Southern Bank of Ky. The building was owned by the Judge Hardy family for sixty years as of 1966. On Mar. 20, 1868, it was the scene of a holdup by the notorious Jesse James gang, who escaped with over $9,000 after shooting and slightly wounding bank president N. Long.
