Penrose Point State Park is a 165-acre Washington state park on Mayo Cove and Carr Inlet at the southern end of Puget Sound. With more than 2 miles of saltwater shoreline, it offers beaches, coves, broad inlet views, and easy access to the water. The park also includes 2.5 miles of hiking and biking trails and an interpretive nature trail. Its shoreline and habitat support many outdoor activities, including swimming, boating, fishing, crabbing, clam digging, scuba diving, birdwatching, and wildlife viewing. Named for Whitman College president Stephen Penrose, it remains a popular recreational destination on southern Puget Sound.
