Built in 1883 in Taylor Township, Greene County, Indiana, the Richland-Plummer Creek Covered Bridge is a single-span Burr Arch Truss road bridge that combines practical rural engineering with unusually careful exterior detailing. Measuring 102 feet long, 14 feet wide, and 16 feet high, it features board and batten siding and decorative Italianate-style elements that distinguish it from more utilitarian covered bridges. Also known as County Bridge #86, it reflects Indiana’s strong covered-bridge tradition and was recognized for both its engineering and historical importance when it was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1993.
