Greene–Sullivan State Forest in Dugger, Indiana, was established in 1936 after the Indiana Department of Natural Resources received more than 3,000 acres from coal companies. Since then, it has expanded to more than 9,000 acres. The forest is especially notable for the more than 120 lakes spread across its property. Today, it serves as a major outdoor recreation area, supporting activities such as fishing, camping, hunting, and horseback riding.
