Woodbury soldiers who died in the Rebellion of 1861 included one first lieutenant, two second lieutenants, and Commissary Sergt. Walt J. Orton, who died Oct. 7, '64; Serg'ts Myron G. Bishop, who died July 28, '65, And. B. Candee, who died Sep. 30, '63, Chas. A. Squire, who died June 22, '64, and Tim F. Walsh, who died Feb. 6, '65. Also included were eight corporals and four privates, along with 13 privates on the east face, with a year of death as early as 1862, and 13 privates on the north face.
