On February 7, 2008, Sgt. William Biggs and Officer Tom Ballman of the Kirkwood Police Department, Director of Public Works Ken Yost, Michael Lynch, Council Member Connie Karr, Council Member Mike Swoboda, and the Mayor lost their lives while serving the Kirkwood community.
